Heaven's Gate Charters is a high-quality fishing charter company in Homer, Alaska.

Halibut is our primary targeted species, but most of our trips include a full day of fishing for halibut plus additional species. We fish for halibut, salmon, rockfish and cod. We have one of the highest success rates for catching king salmon in the Homer charter fleet. Captain Seth Ellis has 17 years of experience guiding fishing charters in Cook Inlet, Kachemak Bay and the surrounding waters, and 2027 will be our 18th season.

Our boat, the Dream Catcher II, holds 6 fishermen plus a captain and deckhand, and has individual seating for 6 guests, an enclosed lavatory and a heated cabin for the comfort of your full-day charter.

The ecosystem in South-Central Alaska is a perfect environment for fish to thrive. Our goal is to get the halibut from the ocean to your dinner plate! During the halibut portion of your charter, we use the technique of bottom-fishing. HGC provides all the necessary fishing tackle and bait for your trip. We focus a large portion of the day on halibut, and it is uncommon that we don't catch our daily halibut limit for each angler.

We also love salmon fishing!!
There is nothing more exciting than a king salmon strike and the ensuing fight. While our local rivers are facing new regulations, the kings in the ocean are plentiful. Our salmon harvest rate at HGC is among the highest in the charter fleet. HGC provides all gear, tackle and bait for salmon trolling. The captain and deckhand will set up the deck, assign you a rod and coach you while you reel in your salmon. No matter how many salmon we catch during the season, it is always extra special to get a king on the boat and a photo on your phone.

Clam digging and bear viewing
We now offer clam digging trips across the inlet on “clam-tide” days and bear viewing in Lake Clark National Park on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Bring your camera!
