He has also harvested numerous trophy whitetail deer and other big game animals throughout North America. During his many years in the field, he has gained valuable knowledge and experience in managing hunting/fishing properties and locating/harvesting big game animals.

Lakeview Outfitters, experienced, local guides for an unforgettable fly-fishing adventure on the Kenai River and surrounding waters.
Lakeview Outfitters is guide owned and operated, by Phil Hilbruner, and Travis (TJ) Dawson. They founded Lakeview Outfitters in 2015 with a simple goal. To promote a more positive catch and release angling ethic, focused on conservation and reducing angler impact.
They care about your experience and are working to raise the bar in the fly-fishing industry by providing the best quality guided trips! Not only are they the best outfitters around, they are always conscious of the impact on the river ecosystems and promote ethical angling practices through our shop and our guiding. From the day they were founded, they consider conservation first in all their decisions. This isn't something they just talk about; it shows in their daily practices. That’s what sets them apart - STEWARDSHIP / BARBLESS / SUSTAINABILITY!
Here are just some of the highlights of their guided services:
Trout fishing at its best! Drift on the Upper Kenai! Set against the Chugach Mountains, the Upper Kenai River in Cooper Landing is a truly remarkable area filled with epic scenery and great opportunities for the Trout angler. The Upper Kenai also has a healthy population of Dolly Varden, a close relative to Arctic Char. Dolly Varden or "Dollies" have a lot of overlap in their habitat and eating habits with Rainbow Trout. A day of Trout fishing with Lakeview Outfitters usually means you will catch both species. https://www.lakeviewoutfitters.com/trout-fishing
Sockeye and Coho Salmon! For those who would like to keep fish, Sockeye fishing the Kenai River is a great option! Of all the Salmon, Sockeye, also known as Red Salmon, are prized for having flesh that is firmer and a deeper color of red than other species of Salmon. When properly cared for and packaged, Sockeye Salmon can easily last all winter in your freezer and be just as delicious as the day they were caught. https://www.lakeviewoutfitters.com/trips
Scenic Tours are available. Not all visitors to Cooper Landing are interested in floating the Kenai River without a fly rod in their hands, so they also offer scenic tours for a more relaxed experience. They’ve improved on the industry standard by offering this scenic tour in our spacious drift boats, where each guest has their own comfortable seat instead of sitting on the edge of a raft. To further add to your enjoyment, they offer a delicious Charcuterie board for you to snack on while you soak up the sights. https://www.lakeviewoutfitters.com/copy-of-fishing-trip
At Lakeview also provides rentals – grab and go fishing gear - get ready to hit the river:

Guests at Athabasca Fishing Lodges enjoy a caliber of fishing that is second to none. The expectations of the most discriminating angler are met every day with challenges and experiences that you’ll remember for years to come.
With the expertise of the locals, Athabasca Fishing Lodges provides guides with over one-thousand years of passed-down knowledge. Their mastery in hunting, trapping, and fishing on the lake and surrounding areas ensures that every guest has the most memorable experience.
We fish for the best - in Northern Pike, where over 20 lbs. are common. The lodge record and provincial record is 55 inches. Our guests report catching more pike than in past years, with many 50 inches and higher. Lake Trout always provide a challenge. But, with our expertise it’s not a problem! In these cold waters, they grow to enormous sizes, with 30 pounders and even 50 pounders! A new provincial record measuring 51 inches in length and with a 36-inch girth was calculated to be 82-83 pounds. Arctic Grayling, the “sailfish of the north” offer a lively diversion from the “tackle busting” tactics of the Pike and Lake Trout. Try catching Grayling on ultra-light spinning gear or a fly rod. Lodge record is a 22-inch Grayling. Walleye are favorites with most guests, and are abundant in the river outlets and right in front of the lodge. Walleye average about 2-5 pounds, and our guests report catching walleye weighing up to 7.5 pounds.
Athabasca Fishing Lodge is the premier full-service lodge in Otherside Bay at the mouth of the Otherside River that empties into vast Lake Athabasca. The lodge is on the south side of the Lake, about a 20-minute ride in our float plane from Stony Rapids° See maps on Getting There page https://athabascafishing.com/the-lodge/how-to-get-here/ . Nestled in a remote wilderness bay, Athabasca Fishing Lodge has all the amenities of a full 4-star facility. We have recently added new cabins with screened decks, and electric heat and air conditioning. All cabins have hot water, showers and bathroom facilities. Your private suite-style cabin has full electrical service 24 hours a day. Daily maid service is provided to every cabin.
